Routing ID DPNB: What It Means and How to Fix It
By Jorge Cermeño · Updated
Short answer
Routing ID DPNB is a routing code found on some Google Business Profile and Google Account restriction cases. It flags a policy restriction the standard appeal flow rarely resolves: appeals are denied, the form breaks, or nothing happens. Most cases need corrected evidence and escalation through a Google Product Expert.
What triggers a DPNB restriction
Google does not publish the reason behind a DPNB case. These are the patterns we and Google Product Experts see most often across restricted accounts.
Ads or Local Services Ads on the same account
The most consistent pattern in the May 2026 restriction wave. Google now links Ads, Local Services Ads and Business Profile enforcement, so a flag in one can restrict the whole account.
One account managing many profiles
Agencies and multi-location owners are exposed. When the account is restricted, every profile it manages is suspended at once, compliant or not.
Prior suspension history
Accounts or profiles that were suspended before, even if reinstated, are reviewed with less tolerance the next time.
A high-risk business category
Garage door, locksmith, landscaping, HVAC, plumbing and general contracting carry a lower threshold because of long-running spam in those categories.
Business details Google cannot verify
Keywords added to the business name, a virtual office or coworking address, or a public address on a service-area business.
Review or edit patterns that look manipulated
Sudden review spikes, incentivized reviews, or many rapid profile edits, which Google's AI edit moderation now checks before publishing.
What the DPNB notice looks like
Account-level restrictions in the 2026 waves arrived with this message in Business Profile Manager:
“Your profile has been put under restriction due to policy violation. Business Profiles you manage will be suspended and you won't be able to create or claim other profiles.”
Other signs you are dealing with DPNB
- Every profile under the account shows as suspended in Business Profile Manager
- You cannot create a new profile or claim an existing one
- The appeal button is missing, errors out, or loops back to the start
- An appeal comes back denied within minutes, with no detail
- Support or appeal screens list the case as Routing ID: DPNB
How to fix Routing ID DPNB, step by step
- 1
Stop. Do not open a new account or new profiles.
Google links new accounts to the restricted one and suspends them too. This also counts against you in the appeal.
- 2
Confirm what is restricted.
Check myaccount.google.com/restrictions for the account status, then list every suspended profile in Business Profile Manager. Note the date and the exact wording of each notice.
Open Google Account restrictions(opens in a new tab) - 3
Pause Ads and Local Services Ads on the account.
Pausing does not lift the restriction, but it removes an active trigger while your case is reviewed.
- 4
Audit every profile before you appeal.
Business name exactly as registered, a real and verifiable address (or hidden for service-area businesses), the right primary category, and no recent bulk edits.
- 5
Build one evidence pack.
Business license or contractor license, state registration, a utility bill or bank statement showing the same name and address, insurance, and photos of signage, vehicles or equipment.
- 6
File one factual appeal.
Open the evidence upload only when the pack is ready, because the form gives you a limited window (about an hour). Keep the statement short: who you are, what you provide, and that the profiles follow the guidelines.
- 7
Escalate if it is denied or the form breaks.
Do not resubmit the same appeal. Post your case in the Google Business Profile Help Community and ask for Product Expert escalation, or have a specialist escalate it for you.
How long a DPNB case takes
| Case type | Resolution path | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Single profile suspension | Standard appeal | 3 to 14 business days |
| Account restriction, Routing ID DPNB | Appeal plus Product Expert escalation | 3 to 6 weeks |
| DPNB after a denied appeal | Corrected evidence and escalation | Varies by case |
When to get help with a DPNB case
- Your appeal was denied, or the appeal form will not submit
- No response after 14 business days
- Several profiles went down under one account
- The account runs Ads or Local Services Ads
- Your business cannot afford weeks off Google Maps

What does Routing ID DPNB mean?
It is a support routing code on certain Google Business Profile and Google Account restriction cases. In practice it marks the restrictions the standard appeal flow struggles with: denied appeals, broken appeal forms, and cases that only move after a Google Product Expert escalates them.
Is a DPNB restriction permanent?
Not usually. Legitimate businesses with clean, matching documentation can be reinstated. What rarely works is resubmitting the same appeal. The case needs corrected profiles, a complete evidence pack, and escalation when the first appeal fails.
How long does it take to fix Routing ID DPNB?
Account-level DPNB cases typically take 3 to 6 weeks, compared with 3 to 14 business days for a single profile suspension. A denied appeal that has to be escalated can take longer.
Should I create a new Google Account to get my profiles back?
No. Google links new accounts to the restricted one and suspends them as well. It also weakens your appeal, because it looks like an attempt to get around enforcement.
Will pausing Google Ads or Local Services Ads lift the restriction?
Not on its own. Pausing removes an active trigger while Google reviews the case. The restriction is lifted only through the appeal.
Can I appeal a DPNB restriction myself?
Yes. File one well-prepared appeal with matching documents. If it is denied, or the form will not submit, escalate through the Google Business Profile Help Community or a specialist instead of appealing again.
